The Partido da Terra Movement (MPT), considers that it is possible to produce a 100% of the electricity needed from renewable sources, and therefore, believe that electricity should only be created from sustainable sources.
According to the Partido da Terra Movement, using renewable energy sources will create environmental, economic and social benefits. The environmental benefits include reducing greenhouse gases, better air quality, protecting the environment and improving the health of the population. Furthermore, the economy will benefit, as electricity from renewable sources will become cheaper and more reliable, while the construction and maintenance of the sites will create further employment opportunities.
