We Need to Convince the Unvaccinated to Change Their Mind

Only when 85% of the Madeiran population has been vaccinated will the Regional Government considering lightening the current pandemic health and safety measures that are currently in force.

Unfortunately, this percentage can only be met when those, who are either against or undecided about the effectiveness of a vaccine, decide to change their mind.  With this in mind, the Regional Government has decided that it will move forward with a new initiative to help those who are undecided, to make up their mind, and visit a vaccination centre.  This is, said the President, the most effective protection we have both individually and collectively.”

In a statement, the President of Madeira, Miguel Albuquerque said: –

“There is no need to rush, as we want any deconfinement measures to roll out smoothly, so that we can return to some form of normality. But I think that with 85% of the population vaccinated, we will be able to reduce the number of restrictive measures in place, although, we will ensure that careful monitoring remains in force in case there are any sudden spikes in the number of daily cases.”

“We have to convince those, who refrain from being vaccinated, that they are jeopardising the health of others.”

As was a case in America, where an unvaccinated teacher infected 12 of her students.
