Current Mayor of Funchal, and candidate of the Confiança Coalition for Funchal City Council (CCFCC), Miguel Silva Gouveia, alongside other party members, was this morning in the parish of Santo António, to present another CCFCC sustainability and nature proposal, namely, the creation of a new public garden in Romeiras.
His, and his party’s idea is to make use of municipal land that was handed over to the CMF, a couple of years ago, in an exchange for a licensing agreement in another part of Funchal. The exchanged land has never been used, and the idea is to create an aesthetically pleasing city park. The green space, which will be terraced, will include a playground, outdoor gym, dog park, integral park and snack bar, while the top terrace will be used to create a car park.
Concluding, Miguel Silva Gouveia stated that the garden will honour the history of Madeira, with its terraced gardens, while the park will be located in an area of high density housing, giving everyone the opportunity to use these outdoor facilities.
