While on a visit to a farm in Lazareto this afternoon, Miguel Albuquerque confirmed that the Regional Government wants to speed up the vaccination process against Covid-19, but for now, there will be no need to introduce any new restrictive measures.
When questioned about the Delta variant, the President of the Government stressed that, for the time being, nothing needs to be changed. This does not, he said, say that we will not have to revise our plans in the future, as during July and August, 65,000 UK tourists are expected to visit Madeira.
For now, the 4,000 to 4,500 college students who will return home to Madeira for their summer holidays will be vaccinated.
