A section of the Regional Road 222, running through Ribeira Brava collapsed today damaging several cars, and disturbing mourners at a funeral that was also taking place.
At least ten cars were damaged in the incident, many of which were parked outside the entrance to the cemetery. However, the road had already been deemed dangerous, with Congresswoman Olga Fernandes disputing its safety on the 6th of May. She went on to say that the repair work for this section of road has been on the councils to do list since its original collapse in 2018.
