Taking advantage of the renewed hope within the tourism sector, the Madeira Wine, Embroidery and Handicraft Institute (IVBAM) launched its new promotional video dedicated to Madeira’s DO Madeirense (Denominação de Origem Madeirense) and IG Terras Madeirenses (Protected Geographical Indication) table wines.
In the first of twelve videos, the president of IVBAM, Paula Jardim Duarte, presents an overview of the regions wine and the financial support provided by the Regional Government to vineyards such as Adega de São Vicente, but also their support in helping vineyards convert their crops from traditional grapes to table wine varieties. Adega de São Vicente, resident vintner, João Pedro Machado, discusses grape varieties and concludes by saying that Madeira offers a wide selection of table wines.
According to a press release from IVBAM “these videos intend to highlight Madeira’s wines to both regional and national markets, and this is why the videos are subtitled in English, to ensure that they reach a wide audience on social media and other digital platforms.”
