The Monk seal who has been seen resting on the pebble beach in Paul do Mar over the last couple of weeks was found dead this morning. She had been missing for a week, after having received 15-days of veterinary treatment.
As yet, no further information has been released, except that she was 23-years-old, and her body will be removed from the beach tomorrow.
This is a sad blow to our small but vital colony of monk seals.
