Due to the warmer weather, the Regional Secretary for the Environment, Natural Resources and Climate Change has asked everyone to be sensible when visiting forest or wooded areas, and to avoid doing anything that will place others, wildlife, property and flora and fauna at risk.
The announcement comes as a direct result of upcoming weather forecasts which predict an increased risk of forest fires.
Please note that bonfires and other kind of fires are strictly prohibited, and remember that Madeira’s natural heritage belongs to everyone, and as such, it needs to be protected.
