The Regional Secretary for Tourism and Culture (SRTC), Eduardo Jesus, has confirmed that the Flower Festival will be held in October, alongside the Madeira Wine Festival, in what has been described as a month of activities. This years theme is ‘Madeira, Jardim da Esperança.’
At the moment, and with safety of the upmost importance, the number of troupes that will participate on the allegorical procession which will be held on the 3rd of October, as well as the hundreds of extra’s who take part is being analysed. It is believed that this year will be a replication of the 2020 model, where different troupes performed in different areas throughout the city of Funchal.
The Regional Secretary for Tourism and Culture further stressed that everything depends on how the pandemic situation evolves.
