At 01:15 this morning, the Portuguese Institute of Atmosphere and Sea recorded an earthquake registering 2.6 on the Richter Scale off the southeast coast of the Desertas Islands.
The earthquakes recorded depth was 10 km. However, 10 km earthquake depths are often referred to as ‘fixed depths’ and used when accuracy cannot be assured.
