Everything indicates that the bones that were found last Friday in Calheta, are human. As yet the age and sex is unknown, and the Judicial Police (PJ) have asked for a forensic pathologist to assist them in the case.
Ricardo Tecedeiro, Madeira Judiciary Police coordinator, has confirmed that they are waiting to hear confirmation as to whether the remains are human or not, however, he said, everything so far indicates that the recently discovered bones are human.
