Cervical Cancer Screening

Alongside the breast cancer screening for all woman aged between 45 and 69 years of age, SESARAM will soon start testing for HPV (Human Papilloma Virus), a common virus which can cause cervical cancer in some women.

As such, residents aged between 25 and 60 years will be called forward by the Regional Health Service for an HPV test. The screening, which needs to be carried out every five years, should start in the next couple of months and will be carried out at local health centres.
