Madeira Under Mandatory Curfew Until 4th of April

The President of the Regional Government confirmed today that Madeira will remain under a mandatory curfew until Easter Sunday, the 4th of April, (46 days from now).  The curfew will be 7 pm on weekdays and 6 pm at the weekend.

In his statement, the President of Madeira said:  “We will maintain the curfew because at this moment we are facing a major challenge, which is to contain the pandemic and the functioning of the economy, as well as ensuring our hospital can cope with patients either suffering from Covid-19 or other pathologies.”

Miguel Albuquerque wanted to draw attention to the fact that the curfew situation in Madeira, is not the same as the confinements that are in existence in the Azores and the Mainland. What he is trying to do, is create a balance between the economy and public safety.
