Two New Groups to be Vaccinated

The Regional Secretary of Health, Pedro Ramos, has confirmed that from next week two new groups of people will receive their initial Covid-19 vaccination.  In addition, to the groups that are already being vaccinated, people aged 80 and over and those aged 50 and over and who suffer from chronic illnesses will join the programme from the 8th of February.

In a statement he said  that “in view of the number of vaccines available in the Region, our goal is to vaccinate about 2,000 people aged 75 years or over, which represents about 10% of the population within this age group.”

Furthermore, RAM Health Service professionals, health professionals from the private sector, home help/nurses and professionals and members of the civil protection and security forces are currently scheduled for their second vaccination.
