Vaccination Assessment on Friday

The President of Madeira announced today (03/02/21) that on Friday the 5th of February, a public assessment will be held which will enable citizens to understand the vaccination process, and that this will be a weekly event.

As for priority groups, the chief of the Madeiran executive said that these comprise health professionals including assistants, people over 80 years old, those over 50 with pathologies, home assistants, civil protection and security forces, and those living in care/nursing homes.

Miguel Albuquerque also stressed that the containment measures in force will continue until the 21st of February, despite the current reduction in the number of cases, as he wants clarification that the transmission chains have been identified and under control.  So far he has rejected any calls to introduce containment fences around Funchal or Câmara de Lobos.

Concluding, he praised the behavior of all those who live on the island’s and have complied with the rules, saying, “I think we are on the right track.”
