The Regional Government, through the Regional Secretary for Health and Civil Protection, has confirmed that the RAM Health Service provided dialysis treatments to four patients affected by bad weather in the municipality of São Vicente. In a statement they said:
“Some were unable to leave their homes, but thanks to the support of the firefighters it was possible to transport these patients to the place where they could receive treatment. Some of these patients had to be transported on foot to a location accessible to emergency service vehicles. “
SESARAM is also assessing the needs of other patients who have been affected by the bad weather. These include the provision of medicines and psychological support to those people affected by bad weather on the north coast.
