There Will Be NO Fun This Christmas

With the pandemic under control, the President of Madeira is not taking any unnecessary risks and has announced that to protect the health of the Madeirans and Porto-Santenses there will be no market nights in any of the regions municipalities.

Miguel Albuquerque announced during his videoconference that markets in the Region will be allowed to remain open on feast days providing they adhere to their normal working hours but must have a contingency plan and ensure that all circulation routes and rules are already in place.

Stalls or groups of stalls that usually set up around the market and in the surrounding areas are forbidden and the sale and consumption of alcoholic beverages is restricted to those licensed to serve them.

He further announced that there will be no circuses or amusement parks this year.
