A Busy Week for The PSP

In a statement issued by the Regional Command of Public Security Police (PSP) Madeira, they confirmed that they had arrested a 39-year-old man from Funchal, who was in possession of 21 individual doses of cocaine, for drug trafficking.

The PSP also detained a 25-year-old man, born and living in Funchal, for possession of a prohibited weapon (knife), ammunition measuring 1.9 mm, 3 doses of hashish and 3.93 g of liamba.

Furthermore, a 37-year-old man from Machico was arrested for vehicle theft.  The car was stolen from Caniçal and later found abandoned in a street in Funchal. The PSP also confirmed that the man in question is a repeat offender having stolen a vehicle last week!

A further eight drivers have been detained for drink driving – those detained are from Funchal, Câmara de Lobos, Ribeira Brava, Santa Cruz and Porto Santo.  A further two drivers were arrested for driving without a license.
