Caniço Students to Undergo PCR Testing

Twenty-four students are to undergo PCR testing at local 2nd and 3rd Cycle Caniço School, who activated its Covid-19 contingency plans after a 8th grade student tested positive for Covid.

As reported in local newspaper JM, the twenty-four students in the infected student’s class will undergo PCR tests as will all the teachers who have been in contact with the student.  These students will be taught online until they are allowed to return to school by the health authorities.

Furthermore, four other 8th grade classes whose students have had lessons with the infected students teachers are also at home in isolation.  They too will have online lessons until their teachers test results are known.
