The Answer Lies in the Soil

A group of twenty-seven Czech farmers, including animal, fruit and vegetable producers, are currently visiting the region to learn more about the realities of farming in Madeira.

The main objective of this group, who arrived on Monday the 12th of October and whose ages range from 45 to 80, is to compare agricultural and livestock production in Madeira, as well as to establish new contacts, exchange of knowledge and discover common interests.

As part of their fact finding mission, the Czech farmers, who will remain in the region until the end of this week, intend to visit several farms and production facilities including the Escola Agrícola da Madeira in São Vicente, a fruit farm in Quebradas, the Empresa De Gestão Do Sector Da Banana Lda GESBA facilities, and a banana farm in Ponta do Sol.
