New Alcohol Consumption Laws

The Government Council has decreed that except for licensed bar and restaurant terraces the consumption of alcoholic beverages in open public spaces, situated near roads is prohibited. In addition, all restaurants, bars and nightlife spaces, with or without a dance floor will have to comply with the new mandatory 2 am closing time.  Furthermore, alcoholic beverages will not be sold at petrol stations between midnight and 8 am.

The new rulings have come into place as way of preventing the spread of Covid-19, and to protect the populous, now that air traffic to the island has increased.
