Donations Cease During Pandemic

The regional centre for the Portuguese League Against Cancer spends between 20 and 25 thousand euros per month to support 240 patients in Madeira but relies on donations to provide this level of support.  According to Ricardo Sousa of the League, the the charity has not received any aid since January. Moreover, with a State of Emergency being called and a lockdown in operation since March, the League has been unable to undertake any fundraising and are concerned that if this situation continues they will have to cut back on the level of support they offer.
