When asked about the proposed sale of the Dr. Nélio Mendonça Hospital (HNM), Edgar Silva, Portuguese Labour Party (PTP) candidate, rebelled against the Regional Government decision, stating that the current hospital should be used as a "high-risk unit and as a back-up infrastructure to the new hospital."
