The NRP Setúbal docked this morning in Funchal harbour, due to the worsening sea conditions off the coast of Madeira and Porto Santo.
During its time in the region, the naval ship and its crew will be used to strengthen the regional civil protection capacity should either island suffer a calamitous situation or natural disaster, as well as work closely with other maritime departments.
The NRP Setúbal is commanded by Frigate Captain Rui Manuel Zmbujo Madeira, and the vessels crew comprises of 8 officers, 9 sergeants and 29 seamen.
