The mandatory quarantine for passengers arriving in the Region has been reduced to one week, and hotel tests began today, stated the Regional Secretary for Health, Pedro Ramos.
In a statement, the Health Secretary said that every passenger will undergo testing in a specified quarantine hotel and after a week, if the test is negative they will be allowed to leave the confinement of their hotel, but they will be monitored by health authorities. On the 14th day, they will undergo a second test.
This comes after two cases of Habeas Corpus were presented to the Court of Funchal. In both cases the petitions request was granted.
