The Public Prosecutor’s Office (MP) told local media outlet JM on Thursday that searches took place on Tuesday and Wednesday in Madeira, specifically at the Institute for Mobility and Transport (IMT) and the Santa Cruz Municipality (CMSC). The MP clarified that these were part of two separate ongoing inquiries at the DIAP of Madeira, confirming only that the searches had been carried out.
The MP also said that, “in both investigations, no defendants were made or arrests have been made,” adding that the processes are “subject to the secrecy of justice,” and no further details will be released at this time.Â
It’s now clear that the actions stem from independent processes, with no link between them, challenging earlier assumptions of a possible connection.
