Horários do Funchal (HF) marked International Women’s Day by reaffirming the company’s commitment to gender equality and highlighting women’s presence across the organisation.
In a statement, the company emphasises that the 8th of March is a moment to reflect on the progress made and the challenges that remain. “There was a time when many women could not choose their own professional path,” recalls HF, stressing that for years, women’s options were conditioned by social expectations and structural barriers.
Inserted in a sector traditionally associated with the male universe, the company says that its reality has been evolving, with women integrating within various areas of the organisation, from customer service to driving, through administrative services and management functions.
“More than words, equality is built in practice. Internally, there are real opportunities, merit is recognised, and everyone can develop their path based on their skills and ambitions, regardless of gender,” says the chairman of the board of directors of HF, Marco Lobato.
To celebrate the anniversary, the company decorated its buses with banners referencing International Women’s Day, while launching a social media campaign to emphasise equality and the value of building a fairer, more inclusive society.
HF further stresses that equality “is not just a goal,” arguing that change is measured in the real possibility of each person defining their path and taking their place in society.
