Chega leader, Miguel Castro, made the opening speech of today’s plenary session, addressing what should be the debate on the Regional Budget for 2026.
The CH leader considers it important to “look at the reality of those who contribute to a rich Region, with a high GDP, but where there are still so many people living in poverty.
A Region with record tax revenues, but which continues to have “workers who cannot afford a home, young people who cannot afford to build a future.”
“How can a rich region produce so much poverty?” he asked.
The OR2026, he says, “has to give back income to those who work,” says the CH deputy who pointed out the problems of the Regional Budget regarding housing, health and transport.
