Extreme rainfall was recorded at the Porto Santo Airport weather station, with almost 10 litres per square meter (mm) in just 10 minutes (9.5 mm between 10:40 am and 10:50 am), values very close to the yellow warning threshold.
Half an hour later, the rain increased further, causing localised flooding.
