ANA – Aeroportos de Portugal has issued a statement confirming that Madeira Airport will carry out a full-scale emergency exercise tomorrow night (4th – 5th) between 23:30 and 03:00.
“The exercise, carried out by internal and external entities, is in line with EASA (European Aviation Safety Agency) recommendations for evacuation and rescue training, ensuring that all the rescue resources involved in the Madeira Airport Emergency Plan are activated and tested.”
It also informs that the drill “has no impact on the normal operation of the airport.” Even so, “a high movement of rescue and emergency vehicles is expected, accompanied by sirens and flashing lights.”
