Golf Passport Now Available

The Madeira Golf Passport is a brand created with the aim of uniting the three golf courses in the Region, and the various partners that promote golf and the destination: Dreams by Hyatt, Melia Madeira Mare, Casa Velha do Palheiro, Vila BALEIRA, Golinfmadeira, Porto Santo Line as well as the Madeira Promotion Association (APM).

Santo da Serra Golf Club, Palheiro Golf, and Porto Santo Golfe are already part of the brand that operates in one of the most relevant destinations in the panorama of golf lovers, the island of Madeira, which is even nominated in the category of “World’s Best Emerging Golf Destination” at the World Golf Awards 2024.

In 2023, the Autonomous Region of Madeira reached historic highs in golf, as confirmed by the data provided by the Regional Directorate of Statistics of Madeira: an increase of 8.3%, compared to the previous year, in the rounds of the three courses, with more than 75,000 rounds; 73.9% of the rounds were carried out by non-members, who come mostly from the Nordic Countries, Portugal, Germany and the United Kingdom; and, in total, revenue increased by 22.1%, reaching 3.8 million euros.

“Madeira is a very popular destination for golfers, for its challenging and, at the same time, unique courses. It is therefore important for us to continue to promote interest through the creation of more opportunities. We want to expand the brand’s offer, in order to meet the needs of this specific audience,” says the Regional Secretary for Economy, Tourism and Culture and President of the Madeira Promotion Association, Eduardo Jesus.
