On leaving the Palace of Justice, lawyer João Nabais summed up what happened this morning at the Criminal Investigation Court of Funchal.
For now, according to the representative of the mayor of Calheta, Carlos Teles, the defendants have been identified and have been listening to the reading of the indictment, which was interrupted (due to lunch being later resumed at 14:00).
A session that João Nabais foresees will be long, admitting that it will be difficult for the detainees to start making statements before tomorrow. “They will certainly not be heard today. I don’t foresee statements before Monday,” he said soberly.
