The Madeiran Volunteer Firefighters were mobilised at around 9 am this morning, as passers-by became worried that a young man who was sitting on the edge of the Pináculo Viewpoint disappeared from sight.
A team of twelve, comprising of PSP and Civil Protection agents were at the scene but were unable to ascertain if the young man, who was said to have disappeared had fallen.
According to a statement, the search will only be resumed if someone is reported missing.
