According to the Portuguese Institute of Atmosphere and Sea (IPMA), a mini earthquake registering 1.6 on the Richter Scale was recorded off the Porto Moniz coast at 19:35 last night (090824).
The quake had a depth of 10 km.
this is the third earthquake recorded this month in the Autonomous Region of Madeira. On the 3rd, an earthquake registered 2.6 on the Richter scale, and on the 5th, off the northeast of Porto Moniz, there was an earthquake with a magnitude of 1.7.
