A construction company has been caught by the Forest Police dumping waste earth into the sea in the parish of Porto da Cruz.
In a press statement, and reporting on the incident, a spokesperson for the Ministry of the Environment affirmed that this type of illegal dumping is considered a ‘serious environmental offence.’
The same source has confirmed that criminal proceedings are in place.
