At a time when the counting of votes is still underway, the first unofficial results of the European election point to a significant victory for the AD (PSD) in Madeira.
According to JM, the candidacy headed by Sebastião Bugalho, and which has Madeiran Rubina Leal in ninth position on the list won 45,209 votes in the Region, which make up 42.83% of the voters.
Internal data indicate that the PSD lost in only three parishes – Achadas da Cruz, Caniçal, and Machico winning in the remaining 51 parishes.
Their victory is followed by the PS, with 27,459 votes (26.01%), Chega, with 9,646 (9.14%), the Liberal Initiative, with 5,722 (5.42%), the BE, with 3,015 (2.86%) and the PAN, with 2,002 (1.90%), ADN 1987.
