The Regional Secretary for Tourism knows “only” what has been reported by the media regarding the arrival of more Judiciary Police officers to Madeira.
Confronted with news reports that the case has to do with possible irregularities in the air mobility subsidy, Eduardo Jesus said he was unaware. He assured that the Regional Government has not been contacted nor is it involved in this matter. He did, however, show a willingness to collaborate with the authorities, if and when they contact the President of Madeira.
It should be noted that this was a pre-emptive strike operation, where no one was informed of the situation.
