2nd Job Becoming The Norm

More and more Madeirans need to work a second job.

Between 2021 and 2023, the Regional Directorate of Statistics accounted for an increase of 1,700 individuals with two paid activities, most of them in the ‘Services’ sector. The current figure is around 5,500 workers.

In total, there are 129,500 employed residents, about 59% of the population.
