Rafaela Fernandes, the Regional Secretary for Agriculture and Environment, will preside over the delivery of ‘bag-in-a-box’ containers to cider producers in São Roque do Faial, tomorrow, the 5th of March. The ceremony will take place at the headquarters of the Casa do Povo de São Roque do Faial, at 7:00 pm.
In a press statement, it was announced:
“Our Casa do Povo invested around 5,000 euros for the purchase and printing of ur bag-in-a-box. The first delivery to the producers of cider from São Roque do Faial, took place last year according to the amount of cider they produced. Tomorrow the last tranche of ‘boxes’ will be delivered.” The statement concluded by saying that “throughout this initiative, we have had the support of the Regional Government.”
Thus, the Board of Directors of Casa do Povo decided to help cider producers by offering equipment that helps them to market the cider and store it in better conditions.
“We are certain that by helping producers we are boosting the economy of our land. With the new image printed on the aforementioned ‘boxes’ we are promoting our parish.”
It should be remembered that every year the Casa do Povo de São Roque do Faial organises the Trout Festival/Cider Route, at the end of May.
