Groundforce workers will be on full strike on Friday (3rd) and Saturday (4th), and with Sunday also possibly being affected confirm unions STAMA and STTAMP.
Thus, the Transport Workers Union of Portugal (STTAMP) and the Union of Airport Maintenance and Aviation Workers (STAMA) explained that the strike is mainly due to the “lack of coordination of the SPdH [Groundforce] concerning schedules and delays, depriving personnel of their home lives which in their view is tantamount to gross incompetence.
The 3rd and 4th of March strike affects both standard and weekend working hours.
STAMA further reiterated that the strike notice was issued on the 14th of February, and results from illegal working practices and additional hours that incur the penalties of ‘unjustified misconduct’ if not worked.
The union also said that as all peaceful forms of resolution are exhausted and “all limits” have been exceeded, it was decided to proceed with the strike notice.
