Accelerating the digital transition of organisations in the Region is the goal of the Smart Islands Hub (SIH) project, whose consortium is led by the Regional Agency for the Development of Research, Technology, and Innovation (ARDITI).
SIH is a digital innovation (IHL) hub that aims to contribute to the acceleration of the digital and green transition of the Region, framed with the Digital Europe and Digital Portugal programmes, through the provision of various services. The funding application, submitted to the National Network of Digital Innovation Hubs, was recognised at a European level and given a seal of excellence.
The project has 4.483 million euros for investment, and 75% is financed by the Recovery and Resilience Plan (PRR) Portuguese. Arditi’s budget for SIH is estimated at EUR 1.648 million.
Among other objectives, the Smart Island Hub, which is expected to finish the first phase in September 2025, aims to develop skills to make the most of digital innovations, support companies to find funding to follow up and take the results of experimentation to the next stage, develop the ecosystem and establish networks of contacts and implement acceleration and incubation programmes.
ARDITI is working alongside the University of Madeira, Startup Madeira, ACIF-CCIM, FCT NOVA, Uninova, Smart Energy Lab, and CECOLAB.
