Following yesterday’s confirmed positive Covid-19 case at the Mental Health Clinic, Casa São João de Deus, further tests have shown that thirteen residents and three employees have tested positive for the virus, all of whom are showing asymptomatic symptoms.
In a press statement, the director of Casa São João de Deus said that the families of all those infected have been advised, and that the centre’s contingency plan is based on a preventative “Cluster” strategy, which includes isolation areas/spaces, clearly defined contingency plans, and up to date precaution and procedural training for all employees.
Understandably, the centre is closed to all visitors.
