Many will have noticed that the lights around Funchal are already undergoing their testing phase. One of this year’s new innovative attractions is a 80 metre video screen, that has been set up on the pier in Funchal. The screen, shaped in the form of a tunnel, contains more than a million pixels which light up as people pass through.
Earlier this year, the Regional Secretary for Tourism and Culture awarded the contract for this year’s lights to Teixeira Couta at a cost of €940,000.
