A man who left the São João de Deus Health Centre prompted a police response in Funchal on Tuesday, although the situation was resolved quickly, according to the Public Security Police (PSP).
The Regional Command of the PSP said officers were called following reports of a disturbance near the Olimpo Shopping Centre.
The individual was located close to Santa Catarina Park, where officers discovered that a warrant for compulsory hospitalisation had already been issued.
According to PSP subintendent José Catanho, the warrant was executed, and the man was subsequently transported to the appropriate medical facility.
The PSP confirmed that the situation was resolved without further incident.
