The municipality of Santana today hosted another edition of Ultra Skyrunning, an event that brings together athletes from all over the world to face the challenging trails of the mountains and mountains of northern Madeira.
The competition started at 06:00 with the start of the Madeira Sky Race (MSR), the most demanding race of the programme, with a course of 52 kilometers and a positive accumulation of 4,055 meters of elevation.
Two hours later, at 08:00, the Santana Sky Race (SSR) starts, which has a route of 22 kilometers and 1,720 meters of positive elevation, constituting one of the intermediate races of the competition.
The final race started at 10:00 with the North Sky Race (FSR), a 12-kilometer race with 760 meters of positive elevation, aimed at athletes looking for a shorter but equally challenging distance.
