When the first shots tore through the dark sky of Funchal Bay at 22:30 last night, it was clear that the Atlantic Festival 2026 would leave its mark. The Canadian company Firemaster Productions Inc., representing Canada in the Madeira International Fireworks Competition, delivered a breathtaking, exciting, and technically impeccable show.
For about 20 minutes, the entire downtown of Funchal was transformed into an open-air observatory, where thousands of spectators were taken on an unforgettable journey through the cosmos. “The Final Frontier: fire, music, and universe,” certainly lived up to its name.
There are three more shows to go, each taking place on a Saturday evening.
