MBWay Scams

The Public Security Police (PSP) has once again alerted the population to the increase in scams associated with the MB Way application, stressing that this type of scheme continues to defraud citizens throughout the national territory.

In a post made on social networks, the authority explains that the method used by the scammers follows, in most cases, the same pattern: the suspect shows interest in an item offered for sale online and tries to convince the victim that the payment will be made through the application, later requesting that mobile numbers or codes be entered in an ATM terminal.

The PSP reinforces that these procedures are part of the fraudulent scheme and leaves three essential recommendations to avoid being scammed.

  1. Do not enter any phone number that is not yours into the ATM.
  2. The MB Way activation code should not be shared, as it allows full access to the bank account.
  3. MB Way does not require any code to receive money; it is only necessary to have the mobile phone number associated with the service.

In the face of any suspicion, the police advise citizens to immediately stop any transaction, remembering that prevention is essential to ensure digital security.
