A rockfall occurred this evening in Seixal, before the access area to São Vicente, causing heavy congestion on the Expressway. Several stones, including one very large one, fell from the adjacent slope, obstructing the road in both directions. Among the stone blocks on the road is a large boulder, which is making it difficult for vehicles to pass and forcing motorists to drive carefully.
According to a source contacted by JM, there was no record of injuries or vehicle damage at the time the news article was written. Even so, traffic was backed up in both locations as drivers cautiously manoeuvred around the stones. Via Expresso teams were in the area to provide assistance and assess safety conditions.
