The Institute for Forests and Nature Conservation (IFCN) has confirmed that due to an adverse weather warning issued by the Portuguese Institute of Atmosphere and Sea (IPMA), all classified walking routes in the Autonomous Region of Madeira will be closed tomorrow, Tuesday, the 3rd.
The Forest Road that connects Eira do Serrado to Pico do Areeiro will also be closed.
“It is recommended that everyone follow the guidelines issued by the Civil Protection authorities and avoids taking risks at this time,” says the IFCN, adding that after the opening of the routes, if you see any anomalous situation, such as falling stones, branches or trees obstructing the path, or any other occurrence, you should report the situation to the institute.
