The President of the Regional Government announced today that he is in talks with the municipal councils of the Region to “end plastics and advertising” on terraces and esplanades.
The announcement was made at the inauguration of the Editory Garden Hotel, the former Carmo hotel, located in the centre of Funchal.
Miguel Albuquerque then presented tourism figures for the last decade, demonstrating the “exponential growth” of the sector in Madeira, while maintaining that these figures were through hard work and dedication and not chance.Â
